A Vampyr Series Movie? Here’s How You Can Help.

A Vampyr Series Movie? Here’s How You Can Help.

My son recently attended DragonCon, and because he’s a good son, he sat in on a panel discussing how to turn a book into a TV series or movie. We’d been discussing this in particular with the Vampyr Series. I mean, let’s face it. Vampires make for good TV, so why not a Vampyr Series movie?

Here’s the thing. In order to do that, the most basic requirement is social credit, which translates (according to the panelists) into a minimum of 50,000 followers on one social media platform, plus great reviews on the books and so forth.

So I’m reaching out to my readers and asking each of you to follow me on Twitter, like my Facebook page, and comment on this blog post. If you haven’t already, please leave an honest review for each of the books on Amazon: The Vampire’s Pet, The Vampire’s Favorite, and The New Vampire. (Reviews at other online stores are welcome, too.) Finally, spread the word. Tell your book loving friends about the Vampyr Series and encourage them to dive into this story world. Don’t forget. The first e-book is currently available as a free download.

The Master Vampire is currently in the works, so keep an eye out for news on it. I’m also moving and updating all my websites and social media platforms, so please have patience while I rearrange everything.

Thank you all for your help!

  1. Love this series! Would love for this to be made into a book. I can’t wait for your 4th book to come out, and I sincerely hope you can get this series made into a movie

  2. Thanks for the support, Rose!

The Master Vampire is under works and tentatively scheduled for release early next year. I’ll have more news on it as work on it progresses.

  3. Read all three of the Vampyr series in the last 2 days could not put them down. you have joined Laural K Hamilton, Christen Feehan and Ann Rice as a must read again and again I have all their books and have read each sieres in their completion more than once. I can’t wait for Master to get done. I have not read any of your work before but i will be searching it out.

    1. So glad you enjoyed the Vampyr Series, Penny! I have to admit; Eric is one of my favorite characters. He’s been a blast to work with.

Thanks for dropping by and commenting!

  4. Absolutely frickin sizzling HAWT!!! Just completed The Vampire’s Pet…stunning and beautifully erotic writing, incredibly sensual, well developed characters and storyline that left me breathless and wanting… (big sigh) a reality that could rival the intense, emotionally charged relations this story allows the reader to become a part of. As previously noted in the reader comment above, this series is most definitely up there with Laural K. Hamilton, Christine Feehan, C. M. Owens and the likes. Off to read The Vampire’s Favorite!

    1. Aw, hey. Thanks for stopping by. So glad you liked The Vampire’s Pet! Be prepared for everything to get more intense, though, as The Vampire’s Favorite is a humdinger of a story.

    1. Lol. Yes, I know. I have lots of people asking about the final book in the series. My sincere hope is to have it out by Summer 2017, but I can’t promise anything. Make sure you’re subscribed to the V.R. Cumming newsletter (http://eepurl.com/cgMI_z) so you’ll receive a notice in your inbox when The Master Vampire is released.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I love the VAMPYRE Series, and I can’t wait to read more about these characters. The Master Vampire and stories about other related characters would be great! Keep up the hard work, your Vampyre world I’d mesmerizing.

    1. Hi, Shannon. Thanks for stopping by. So glad to hear you’re enjoying the books. I’m working on The Master Vampire and can’t wait to get it to readers. Hang in there! And again, thanks for the support. It means a lot!

  6. I wasn’t really into vampire lit aside from reading a few Anne Rice books and the Twilight series because my niece was reading them. Somehow I found The Vampire’s Pet and was totally hooked!!! I’m quite anxious to read the 4th book and would love for you to write even more, but I understand you wanting to give romance a rest in order to write about other topics. Selfishly though I hope you decide that you have more Vampyr stories to tell 🙂

As for making a film, I’m kinda undecided. When I really really love book characters, I’m always afraid that a film can’t live up to my expectations. I also don’t know that a film would keep all the sexy parts in. But I think it would be fantastic if a great movie version were released that brought more fans to the series. So, yeah, I’m torn!! Keep up the great work and best of luck with your writing and editing 🙂

    1. Hey, Jessica. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the series. 🙂

If the Vampyr Series were translated into film, a lot of the harsher sexy parts would probably have to be cut. On the other hand, there are the Fifty Shades movies and, let’s be honest here, the first season of Game of Thrones was pretty gruesome. I haven’t seen them, but if movie goers can handle that, then they can probably handle a lot of what goes on in the Vampyr Series. Plus, I’m not aiming for the big screen (more like a NetFlix production or something similar), so that should help.

I’m still up in the air on whether I’ll continue writing under the V.R. Cumming name once The Master Vampire is published. It’s on my schedule to write in April, so it could be out as early as May or June, depending on how the first draft goes. (I have a quick turnaround time.) The first few chapters have already been written, and they’re heartbreaking. So much going on! But I can’t wait to work with Eric again. He’s one of my favorite characters!

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate the input! 🙂
